KoMo Classic Grain Mill Review

I’m a sucker for all things fresh and healthy — whether it’s homemade sourdough bread, quinoa, noodles or muesli. If you’re anything like me, you’d want some of the finest tools in the kitchen that will help get your body up and running. One that never fails me is the KoMo Classic Grain Mill.

Milling Made Easy

Quick and easy are what makes KoMo Classic Grain Mill a top choice among homemakers, bakers, chefs and health freaks like me. Simply gather your seeds in the hopper, adjust the mill accordingly (depending on how coarse or fine you want it), press the button and voila!
This mill packs a 360-watt motor, which grinds 8-9 ounces of bread flour texture per minute. In no time, you’ll be enveloping the entire house with the mesmerizing smell of freshly baked bread.
Grinds ALL dry grains

The KoMo Grain Mill works with just about any dry grain out there: Soft or hard wheat, oat groats, rice, triticale, kamut, spelt, buckwheat, barley, rye, millet, teff, quinoa, amaranth, sorghum and dent (field) corn, lentils and dry beans like pinto, red, garbanzo and kidney.
It does, however, have its limits. Don’t use this mill for spices, herbs and oil seeds.
Tidy to Use, Tidy to Maintain

One of my favorite things about this grain mill is it is absolutely easy to live with. You can disassemble it in ten seconds, tool-free and comes with a wooden lid to maintain cleanliness in between uses.
A Tool You’d Want to Show Off

Let’s face it: There are a lot of kitchen appliances we’d rather keep hidden in the deepest, darkest corners of our cabinets. However, the KoMo Classic Grain Mill design exudes simple elegance and fine craftsmanship. It is adorned with a solid beech wood exterior and corundrum-ceramic burrs that grind any texture of your choice. Plus, it takes up less space than your coffee maker. Truly, it is one kitchen aid that is a guaranteed conversation starter.
Surprisingly Quiet

No one likes waking up to the sound of grains milling. That’s why KoMo designers, Wolfgang Mock of Germany and Peter Koidl of Austria made sure that its sound is far from disruptive. Your children can go about sleeping while you prepare breakfast.
Lasts You A Lifetime

A trend among modern appliances is to last for five years. The folks from KoMo went against this poor mentality and crafted a mill that will last its users a lifetime. This mill is already looking like a very promising family heirloom if you ask me!
